HAWK acquired the Pipistrel Virus to provide another entry point for student pilots and to provide all students with the perspective of flying without power. With a glider, as with a balloon, students are able to obtain a certificate earlier. Training in a glider also gives pilots confidence when challenged with loss of power in a standard fixed wing aircraft. For these reasons and more the Pipistrel Virus provides great experience for a career in aviation.
